No, really!

Was helping out in the am with a few things today when I felt a bit more tired than I would have expected. Still shaking off a bit of a leftover sniffle, so attributed it to that.

Then, my chest started to squeeze. No real pain, just an ache in the middle that sat there. Sat and glowered. I found myself hyperventilating off and on, the asthma spray having no real effect in dislodging this unwelcome sensation. If anything it grew stronger, right along with the heavy beating of my heart as it started to practically shake me with each thud while revving at somewhere aroundabout a hundred a minute.

So yeah, after mentally trying to calm down for a while, I gave up and mentioned these symptoms to a registered nurse, who called the hospital while calling someone else to drive me there -at the same time-. Nifty trick.

Spent most of the day in the emergency room, wired up and shanked in the bloodstream, while explaining to the doctor that I really could breath just fine on my one if I just had a second to catch my breath.

Tests were run! Samples were... sampled. Consensus is not a heart attack, nor a micro-stroke, although there's the chance of something funky with a valve that has to be stress tested on me later on. So I got hit with a big dose of an anti-anxiety medication and watched carefully to see if the sensations settled. No dice. Second hit, a li'l. Third hit, pretty passive.

Who knew it was possible for me to be even more paper-mache than I already am?

tl;dr. Had to go in for possible heart attack which was downgraded to severe anxiety attack and possible minor heart funkiness to check out. Wooden personality now curiously mushlike on reduce stress drugs.
